Had understood about it from this book that it is a plant. Also had tried to engine search for this plant, but, only come up as something a witch makes as a flying potion of some sort. OH I know a person doesn't really fly like Superman, that you're nothing but in an astral state. Your help is appreciated to the recipe as I am aware its an ancient one or for the litterate plant!! Also have these questions: 1. Where I can obtain the plant called Blood Root? 2. Where can I also obtain the plants for the Amber plus     Dragon Blood ? I do know they are resins. OH1 I have found some so-called flying ointments while engine searching, no promise they'll work until I purchase the ingredients to fine out.

Palm Tree & pretty easy to get online.

A1:  Greetings Dawn,  Symbols in general have many different meanings as do many things individuals hold sacred. The pentagram, the equilateral cross and  the crucifix are no different. Take the swastika for example. The symbol by itself depending on your association with it takes on different meanings and uses. The swastika inherently on its own is not a bad symbol. You can find it in depictions of Thor on his belt. You can also find it in Tibetan writings.   Symbols are borrowed/assimilated by different groups for a certain particular quality it can offer the group. It doesn't mean that the symbol itself doesn't have other origins or uses. Its about the intent behind it.

Wiccans certainly are not the only ones to use the pentacle.  It's uses can be also be found in Eastern Healing modalities like acupuncture for treatment and diagnostic purposes for example..  And varying types Crosses have been use since the dawn of time by people of all walks of life for different purposes and different reasons.

As far as  Jesus Christ is concerned, they are pretty sure a man by that name existed who was known as Rabbi and a great teacher.. There are many books on the subject. If you are really interested in the formation of how modern day Christianity was formed, I mean really bloodily formed, would suggest by starting with Holy Blood Holy Grail. You might find its side information to be also interesting.

A2:  I agree.   It was also the Seal of Solomon & is still used by ceremonial magicians & dates back centuries. The HP of my coven & best friend studies & is also a member of the Golden Dawn & they use it quite a bit, especially in the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram.   But you see, Witches have always begged, borrowed & stolen magickal tidbits from wherever they could, if they worked for them.   As for the J-Man. Who knows? They didn't have YouTube then.

A book and herb dealer claims wolfsbane is used for cloaking. Is that true?

A1:  Greetings Dawn, I would suggest acquiring a couple of real honest to goodness herbal manuals to accompany your other reading.   If you are interested in using herbs in your work you need to know more about them, especially if you intend to wear, ingest or inhale them.  Certain plants and other natural ingredients,  by themselves or in-conjunction with other plants or compounds can make you very ill and even kill you.  In some cases, by even just smelling or touching them.   .. and yes these four are of the deadly variety!   There are books such as "Kitchen Witchery" by Marilyn F. Daniel  that give you substitutions for deadly ingredients.  Her book runs the gamut from oils to comestibles. Nice little book.

Again, I'm sure Mark may have a few words to say about this.

A2:  Hi,   Those recipes include deadly ingredients because they were coerced out of people under torture during the Witch Trials. It is my guess that they did so in hopes that the inquisitors would try them & die instead of fly.   Also, hallucinogenics are usually poisons, in that the poison makes the mind hallucinate, giving, perhaps, a sensation of flight.   Again, don't try this at home.

A:  Though you can certainly use spellwork to strengthen your feminine / yin energy, I don't think that literal of a transformation is possible without medical procedures. I know many Transgender people, both Male to Female & Female to male. All of them had some form of psychological guidance to help them through it before, during & after.  2 in fact are/were close to me, 1 is a Female to male witch in my coven.   The other, Lady Ironfox, was a Male to Female Witch who was in my coven, but crossed over 8 years ago. She was the strongest Witch I had ever met at that point, probably still is. It was Ironfox's inner strength that made her who she was regardless of gender. She made the change she wanted both with & without magick. But the essence of who she was made her do it all wisely.   I really, really hope this helps.

A:  Personally, I'd let him go. No sense mucking about with magick when humans are just being human. Love magick is one of the most dangerous forms, even in the breaking up of a love & if it's true love,it won't work anyway.   Instead I suggest reading up on how spells actually work. They are like prayers with props on some level. Plus there's the whole 3fold Law of Return to consider.   No, I'd let him go, get myself back up to speed with loving my self & getting my life in a shape. THEN, I'd cast for a new love. One that is perfect for me wherever I am in my life. I can say that because, that's exactly what I did. It worked for me.   "A perfect love in a perfect way. A perfect partner to come & play. For the highest good & harming none, as I will it, so let it be done.

A:  I my experience binding a lover should be 100% mutual. Otherwise it isn't Love, it's control.   Trust me, I've done it & it always ends horribly.   Rather, I suggest casting for someone who is perfect for you. For example:   I want a perfect Love in a perfect way. A lover who's fun & a lover who'll stay. For the highest good & harming none, as I will it, so let it be done. So Mote it be.

A:  Chaos magick is not something that I have studied. In fact,I'm mush more comfortable working with Universal Laws. In my humble opinion, Witches are Universal Lawyers, in that we learn, study & practice within those principles that apply to everyone.  

Chaos magick, from what limited understanding I have on the subject, is one that operate aside from or beyond those laws. So yes, an eclectic can learn & practice within chaos magick. But on the whole I think your term 'magicican. is more applicable to those who really get into it. 

Bottom line, every path has some truth in it. Find what you may & incorporate what works for you. But how I know something works for me is by how it feels. The word Chaos itself is not really part of my personal lexicon, so I move toward its opposite 'order.' However, I would never dissuade someone from finding what works for them. I would only follow my own gut & emotional guidance toward or away from any subject that presents itself to me. That is a path worth following & whether you simple dip a toe, become a master of it, or anywhere in between, learning, knowledge & wisdom is the goal, but Love is the ultimate reward in the moment & long term.

A:   Thankfully we live in a time where so many spiritual paths & options are available to us.The most immediate answer I have for you is a personal one. I identify myself as an Eclectic Witch because I really enjoy learning. As a teacher I feel like once I stop learning I am 'dead in the water.' So, I make it a point to keep my passion for learning alive by following my gut toward what feels best for me.  

That said, I have experimented & tried on many different paths & practices. In the end I found my own tailored approach was just fine, not being regulated to any one specific tradition or doctrine. This frees me up to study whatever lights me up spiritually.  

Certainly if a specific tradition speaks to you, or your spirit pulls you deeper, then go for it. But I always suggest you do your research into not only the tradition, but it's leaders, its principles, rules & elevation process. Any path or tradition worth is salt is going to empower you & help you reach your own personal spiritual goals. However, their structure may require you to fulfill certain requirements not particiulalry 'on your 'menu' but if they harm none, so be it.  

For example, when I was under traditional training I was required to learn a specific lineage of folk healing. Though I do not rely on that system now, I do find it helpful in understanding that specific symbolic language. This is good for an eclectic because, again, it expands our range of knowledge & wisdom.
